It started with my own hair.
I wanted curly hair for years and was afraid to commit. I've changed plenty of things about myself, but this felt different. I couldn't picture how it would actually look on me.
Eventually I ran it through a very early version of hAIr. Seeing the curls on my own face was enough. I went and got a perm a week later. It worked.
That experience is why I'm building this. The way we look is part of who we are, not something superficial. I want people to be able to represent themselves as they are.
There's a gap in salons I want to bridge. The client comes in with an imagination of how she wants to look. The stylist has the technical knowledge: face shape, hair texture, what's possible and what isn't. Both are right. The two pictures usually don't meet until the end of the cut. hAIr brings them together at the start.
